CHANDIGARH ; 2nd Dec. : ALPHA NEWS INDIA   :— The
Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police succeeded in apprehending an accused Gaurav
Jaggi s/o Ajay Jaggi r/o H.No. 170, Sun City Colony, Ropar, Punjab age 20 yrs and
recovered 40 gms Heroin from his possession valuing Rs. 2.40 lacs
approximately.   
                        On
01.12.2016, during a special drive, a team of Crime Branch consisting SI Ashok
Kumar and other officials under the supervision of Inspector Gurmukh Singh were
on patrolling and vehicle checking duty near Mandi Ground Ram Darbar,
Chandigarh. Suddenly, the team noticed one pedestrian coming from the side of Phase-2,
Ram Darbar and on seeing the police party, the said person tried to escape, adopted
another way and also take out something from his pocket and tried to throw it
away, but with the prompt action, the team members apprehended him. On enquiry,
he disclosed his name as Gaurav Jaggi s/o Ajay Jaggi r/o H.No. 170, Sun City
Colony, Ropar, Punjab. On checking the polythene which he was trying to threw,
40 gms Brownish Sticky material (Heroin) had been recovered. A case FIR No. 317
dated 01.12.2016 u/s 21 NDPS Act, PS-31, Chandigarh was registered in this
regard.
                        During interrogation, he
disclosed that he is a student of B. Tech and habitual of consuming drugs from
the last 03 years. He used to bring these contrabands from Delhi and Punjab for
selling the same to the students of different colleges of tricity. He further disclosed
that he also sold some quantity of drugs to the drug pedlars who further sell
the same to drug addicts.
                        Today
i.e. 02.12.2016, accused Gaurav Jaggi was produced before the Hon’ble Court and
obtained 02 days police custody remand. The investigation of the case is in
progress to establish the origin from where he purchase drugs and to whom he sale
the same.
