CHANDIGARH ; 28TH APRIL ; ALPHA NEWS INDIA DESK ;—–NSS volunteers of PGGC 11 were honoured by Panjab University for Swachh Bharat Summer Internship programme launched by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in June 2018.
Volunteers were divided in two teams comprising of ten volunteers each with Mohammad Amzad and Rohit Kumar as team leaders.
Both teams carried out various Swachhta awareness programmes in the adopted village Khuda Ali sher from June 7 to July 31 2018 .Nukkar natak
Door to door meetings, rallies ,wall paintings., Movie screening, waste collection drives, segregation of solid waste in to non biodegradable and bio degradable waste, development of compost pits, transportation of household waste and many other activities were conducted to spread awareness about Swachhta ,informed the Nodal officer Prof Renu Trikha.
The college won first prize at Distt level and second prize at State level with a cash prize of Rs 30000.
It’s a commendable achievement said Principal Prof Rama Arora.
I congratulate the volunteers and their mentor Prof Renu Trikha under whose zealous guidance the volunteers have accomplished great task in 1410 hours.
