on Research Methodology in Social Sciences, which was
organised by the ICSSR North-Western Regional Centre, concluded at
ICSSR Complex, P.U. Chandigarh. The programme was attended by 41 research
scholars from various universities and colleges of the region.
On the concluding day Professor Sanjay Kaushik, Honorary Director, ICSSR
North-Western Regional Centre welcomed the Chief Guest, Professor J.K. Sehgal,
Principal, Post Graduate Government College, Sector-11, Chandigarh.
Professor Sehgal in his valedictory address said that as per the schedule drawn by
the Regional Centre it was a well structured programme and has created a pathway for the
researchers to proceed further in research. He urged the scholars to choose the topic
of research which is constructive and may bring transformation in the society. While
doing the research they should enjoy their work as well. The unique research always
makes the researcher proud.
Professor Sanjay Kaushik, Honorary Director urged the scholars to approach
the Regional Centre if they require any guidance in research. He viewed that the
researchers may share the knowledge and skills gained during the programme with peers in
their respective departments / universities or colleges. The Regional Centre always
takes the help of the eminent persons in the field of social sciences as resource
persons in the programmes. He advised the scholars to do research perfectly and frame
the true data in research.
The participants presented their field work reports and day to day
proceedings of the two week training programme. They appreciated the Regional Cenrtre’s
endeavour to enrich the knowledge of scholars and requested to arrange the programmes
frequently.
Dr. P.K. Saini, Deputy Director, ICSSR thanked the Director, resource
persons, media and participants. He elaborated that the programme was organised with a
view to develop skills of the research scholars in order to become competent and
effective researcher. The programme was scheduled in such a way which will help them to
sharpen their skill in their research areas. He appreciated the hard work done by the
staff of the ICSSR.
