CHANDIGARH ; 8th March : ALPHA NEWS INDIA DESK ;—– Zelus 2.0 was inaugurated with utmost gusto and enthusiasm. It is a three day event consisting of a wide variety of formal and informal sports. The event was graced by Chief Guest Akhil Kumar, a renowned boxer of international acclaim. He has won several accolades representing the country including a gold medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. He has been honoured with the Arjuna Award and has been appointed as the national observer for boxing.
Zelus 2.0 is going to be a grand sporting fiesta with as many as 12 colleges from across the nation, with around 450-500 students participating.
As the guests started flowing in, they were greeted with a warm floral welcome. Keeping in consonance with the Indian tradition, the event started with the austere lighting of the lamp ceremony. The Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Paramjit Singh Jaswal was called upon the stage. He addressed the audience with his kind words and declared the event open.
