CHANDIGARH ; 18th DEC.; ALPHA NEWS INDIA ;– Chandigarh Golf Association (CGA) Started to promote Chandigarh as Golf Tourism destination about 12 years ago. The main Objective of this is to expose the Golfing fraternity to the excellent Golfing infrastructure of Chandigarh and surrounding areas. In this endeavour one of the objective is to promote Tricity as an affordable destination for learning and Practicing golf. As a result CGA is offering excellent facilities and has produced gofers such as Jeev Milkha Singh, Shubhankar Sharma, Karandeep Kochhar and Aadil Bedi.
In this event we are inviting golfers from all over the world to enjoy the game of golf as well as introduce this game to future generation to become budding golfers from this region.
This year the Indian Oil Durapave Chandigarh Golfing Tour 2018 is being held in fond memory of Sh. Jagdeep Singh Cheema , Founder Member of CGA, from December 19th to 21st December 2018 as per following schedule:-
Practice Round Wednesday 19th Dec 2018 Forest Hill Golf Resort, Naya Gaon
Day-1 Thursday 20th Dec 2018- Chandigarh Golf Club, Chandigarh
Day-2 Friday 21st Dec 2018 – Panchkula Golf Club, Panchkula
As of date 30 entries have been received from 6 countries, and 21 domestic golfers from India will come from out of town to join 50 Local golfers to participate in the Tour.
The format will be stroke play and championship will be decided on the best aggregate score of both days of the game. To make the handicap of golfers realistic, Double Peoria system of scoring will be applied. Prizes have been introduced for each day of score. Details of Prizes are as under

- (11 & Above Handicap) (Gross and Nett) Winner and Runners up

Nearest to Pin and Longest Drive (Overall for the day)

The prize distribution ceremony will be held at Hotel Holiday Inn, Panchkula on December 21st at 2.00 pm.
