Subject: Complaint against non-refund of on cancellation of E-Tatkal Railway Ticket-
PNR 2212 900216 (Booking ID- TK 4653 64146 C 22 (Two passengers)
Sir,
This is to inform you that we got booked two tickets on line as Tatkal e-tickets on 11 th April, 2024 for travelling from New Delhi Railway Station to Jammu Tavi as we intended to go on religious tour to Mata Vaishno Devi Temple via 11450- SVDK- JBP Exp train.
All of a sudden, our e-tickets got cancelled without our knowledge or it may be due to some technical fault, as we are not much hi-tech/ digital friendly. This compelled us to cancel our tour programme to Mata Vaishno Devi temple and we were surprised to note that no refund of Rs. 2634/- for our ticket was provided to us by Railway or IRCTC. Then, we got checked from website of railway with the help of a friend who informed us as under : – –
What are Tatkal ticket cancellation & refund rules IRCTC?
• Tatkal Ticket Cancellation Refund Rules Tatkal Ticket Cancellation Refund Rules IRCTC (a) No refund of fare shall be admissible on confirmed Tatkal Tickets. (b) Grant of refund for unused Cancellation Charges for RAC or Waitlisted Tickets as per clause 2″ Cancellation Charges for RAC or Waitlisted Tickets”
This is our humble request to consider the above said position and requested to review the rule position and save us from unjustified and illegal financial loss, due to sudden cancellation of railway -E-tatkal tickets, for any unknown reason whatsoever. We are innocent citizens and have limited finances with us as we are employees. We request that we should not be made to suffer financial loss, due to this illegal and unjustified rule. Such rule is violative of principal of equality and amounts to discrimination to us at par with other categories of railway passengers.
Sir, IRCTC is a private body/ corporation and Railway authorities are requested to give necessary orders/ instructions to IRCTC to do justice with us and avoid this financial loss to us. You are requested to order the refund the same amount to our account & oblige. Thanking you,
