Chandigarh: 28 January:- ALPHA NEWS INDIA DESK:—Press Information Bureau (PIB) and Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB), Chandigarh, today, organized a webinar on Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. Shri Rohit Kumar, Chandigarh-based Social Activist & National Awardee and Shri Balinder Kataria, District Programme Manager, Swachh Bharat Mission Yamunanagar participated as guest speakers during the webinar.
Highlighting their activities on the field, Shri Rohit Kumar said that their teams are working with Municipal Corporation Chandigarh (MCC) and Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee (CPCC) to curb the usage of single-use plastic. Emphasizing the importance of waste segregation at source, he said awareness among the public and their equal participation in the process is the need of hour for the success of Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM).
During the virtual meet, Shri Balinder Kataria, District Programme Manager, Swachh Bharat Mission, Yamunanagar said that district administration is proactive toward creating awareness among the rural population about importance of cleanliness thereby making SBM into a people’s movement. He informed the participants that model villages in the district have been established to demonstrate the best solid waste management practices.
