Workshop on Extraoral Maxillofacial Prostheses
Two days workshop on Extraoral Maxillofacial Prostheses concluded today which was
organized by Department of Prosthodontics, Dr. Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of
Dental Sciences, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
There were thought provoking academic sessions and Hands-on course on the
replacement of lost facial parts like eyes, ear, nose and orbit with artificial
material. The main aim of the workshop was to impart knowledge on this lesser
touched but essential aspect of the subject of Prosthodontics which is considered
mainly to be related with replacement of missing teeth and oral tissue only.
In hands-on course participants sculpted Eye Prosthesis and fabricated artificial
silicon Ear. The organizing committee constituted of Dr. Ashish Jain, Dr. Shefali
Singla , Dr. Lalit Kumar , Dr. Komal, Dr. Sharique Rehan, Dr. Virender, Dr. Puneet,
Dr. Sunint, Dr. Rajni Jain and Dr. Monica, conducted the course. The course was
attended by 44 Post Graduate Students and 15 Faculty Members from various Dental
Colleges. The students appreciated the academic activity supported by reality.
