This year the Maruti Suzuki 13th Chandigarh Golfing Tour 2017 ( In fond Memory of Late Sh. JS Cheema Founder Member of Chandigarh Golf Association) is being organized by Chandigarh Golf Association (CGA) on December, 8th & 9th 2017 as per following schedule:-
Day-1 December 8th , 2017 – Panchkula Golf Club, Panchkula
Day-2 December 9th, 2017 – Chandigarh Golf Club, Chandigarh
As on date, 61 entries have been received from 8 countries of the world. Maximum participation however is from the USA, Canada and UK entries with 26, 16 & 9 respectively. This year new the Netherlands & Norway teams are also in contest .
The competition this year is likely to be contested between the USA and Canadian players. There are 5 players with single figure handicap and lowest is Amarjit Brara with 3.2 handicap from the USA.
The format of play like last year will be stroke play and championship will be decided on the best aggregate score of the two venues of the game. To make the handicap of golfer’s realistic, Double Peoria systems of scoring has been introduced. Those associating with this event are Tourism Departments of Chandigarh &Travel Agents Association of India. Hospitality partners of the event are CITCO, Tourism promotion Society of Chandigarh, Jags Sports Wear and Ballantine’s Golf Retreat.
Maruti Suzuki is the Main Sponsor of the event. Gold Sponsor is Hero Moto Corp, Silver Sponsors are Hero Homes Sector 88, Mohali, Soma Group and Trident Group. HDFC Bank and Toro are Bronze Sponsors. Budget Signs are Publicity Partners.
Rana Gurjit Singh Minister (Power & Irrigation Govt of Punjab) will be give away the prizes on December 9th at 7.30 pm.
