Chandigarh 12th November:- ALPHA NEWS INDIA DESK:——–Under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority, the State Legal Services Authority alongwith District Legal Services Authority, U.T., Chandigarh organized National Lok Adalat today on 12.11.2022 in the District Court, Sector 43, Chandigarh. Necessary directions regarding safety of litigants, staff and Judicial officers of the Court during the current situation of pandemic issued by the competent authority have been adhered to.
Fourteen benches headed by the serving Judicial Officers were constituted in the District Courts, Sector-43, Chandigarh. Criminal Compoundable cases, cases under Section 138 of N.I.Act, Bank Recovery cases, MACT Cases, Matrimonial Disputes, Labour Disputes, Arbitration matters, other Civil Cases, Municipal Matters and Traffic Challans were taken up and disposed off with the consent of the parties.
In today’s National Lok Adalat total 2911 cases were disposed off by the benches of serving Judicial Officers constituted in New District Courts Complex, Sector 43, Chandigarh which include 10 Criminal Compoundable case involving an amount of Rs.4,240/-, 1230 cases under Section 138 of N.I. Act involving an amount of Rs.4,97,80,575/-, 22 Motor Accident Claim cases involving an amount of Rs.2,30,05,000/-, 59 Matrimonial/Family Disputes, 159 Civil Suits and Rent Cases, 73 Executions involving an amount of Rs.47,21,868/-, 17 Criminal Revision, 22 Crl. Misc. involving amount of Rs.25,000/-, 22 Civil Misc. involving amount of Rs.54,48,392/-, 47 Arbitration cases, 05 Civil/Rent Appeals involving an amount of Rs.2,70,000/-, 42 cases of 125 Cr.P.C., 33 cases of D.V. Act, 40 Untrace cases, 24 cases of Registrar of Companies Act/Shop Act involving an amount of Rs.9,04,000/-, 11 Criminal Appeals involving amount of Rs.4,00,000/-, 7 cases of Guardian Act, 1088 Traffic Challans were also disposed of by imposing a fine of Rs.8,70,400/-.
In addition to above, 3158 cases involving an amount of Rs.18,16,630/- were disposed of by Permanent Lok Adalat (Public Utility Services), 26 pre-litigative cases involving an amount of Rs.23,78,198/-, 20 Labour Dispute Cases involving an amount of Rs.9,21,601/- and 57 Cases involving an amount of Rs.5,95,00,000,/- were disposed of by 03 Benches of State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission.
