e-Court Fee System set to be launched in Chandigarh soon

Chandigarh  :  22nd March  :  ALPHA NEWS INDIA DESK ;—- Chandigarh Administration has taken “Ease of doing business” a notch higher by enabling the citizens of Chandigarh to pay Judicial Stamp Duty from the convenience of their home. The e-Court fee system is set to be launched in the Union Territory of Chandigarh, which will enable a citizen to pay Judicial Stamp Duty levied on court cases.

The service is a computer based application and a secured electronic way of paying the judicial stamp duty. This would replace the prevailing system of physical stamps in the city in a phased manner.

To avail this service, a citizen will have option, to pay required Stamp Duty online or through Authorized Collection Centers. For paying online, a citizen will be required to visit www.shcilestamp.com and register himself for e-Court System. Thereafter he will be able to pay the required Stamp Duty through Debit Card or Net Banking, Alternatively, Citizens can also pay the required fees at designated Authorized Collection Centers. The Citizens would get receipt of payment which will be required to be enclosed along with case documents. The system will curb stamp paper shortage, leakages and other shortcomings of present system.

e-Court Fee receipts will be instantly computer generated which means there will be no supply glitches, and the administration can save money, which it puts into procuring and transportation of these stamp papers.

The Chandigarh Administration has appointed Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited (SHCIL) for the implementation of e-Court Fee system. SHCIL, the Centralized Record Keeping Agency (CRA) mandated by Government of India (GOl) already provides eStamping service in the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
